Christmas Week

Another mixed bag of running. More bad days than good and again very little consistancy.

I missed my long run on Sunday 23rd and was going to make it up on the 24th but again ran out of time and motivation. Christmas Eve sucked. Home alone (the kids were with Jon for his family event) and I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. I had planned to go for a nice long run after 5pm when the kids went off with Jon but that was when I lost it. Why was I alone on Christmas Eve? Ended up being a bit of a sook. Slept really badly too.

Christmas Day I slept a late, then headed over to Jon's house at 9am to watch the kids open their presents. I walked dog around 10:30am before going to the parent's house for lunch. Two small glasses of wine at lunch and I was a gonner. I don't really drink anymore and I shouldn't have had anything. I was tired and a blinding headache had started so I went back home without the kids around 5pm and slept on the couch for about an hour. Vegged out in front of the tv until my sister dropped them home around 7:30pm. I went out again that evening for a quickish 7km which I included 10 x 30 second sprints on the oval. There were

Wednesday (Boxing Day) I dragged my pathetic arse out of bed for a 16km around Williamstown and backed up on Thursday for another 11k.

Friday I packed up the house and the kids and I headed down to St Andrews Beach where I had rented a house for a week. It was 39 degrees when we arrived at 6pm and it took all our energy just to drag out the bikes two hours later to take the dog down to the beach. Worth the effort though as we saw a stunning sunset.
